- PalDat - the palynological database (www.paldat.org)
The world-wide largest database on Pollen and Spores is available on the internet since March 2000. It was developed at the Department for Palynology and Structural Botany, Faculty Center (Institute of) Botany, University of Vienna. Since that time approx. 300,000 visits were counted and more than 3,000 users have registered to PalDat. Constantly the dataset is extended – at the moment PalDat contains nearly 8,000 pictures of more than 1,000 recent plant species, from over 600 genera (September 2006).
In May 2005 the Society took over the website www.paldat.org as an official publication. - On May 10, 2006 the Department for Palynology and Structural Botany in cooperation with the Society organized a workshop on "Pollen and Eternity". For this reason the PalDat website with an extension on fossil pollen – FosPal – was re-launched. This was only made possible by a close co-operation with ao. Univ.-Prof. Dr. Reinhard Zetter from the Institute of Paleontology, University of Vienna.

In fine arts and painting interested members of the Dept. of Structural and Functional Botany at the University of Vienna have founded PalArt (www.palart.org). Painting is not "just for fun" but we support with the sales revenue the worldwide largest database on pollen in the internet: PalDat.
PalDat is available free of charge in the Internet at www.paldat.org. You will find the paintings at (www.palart.org).
